For me I feel as though I struggled through this project, it was hard. I had a bit of a hard time keeping up. I am so thankful for the group I had this court they really helped keep me in the loop and keep me on track. At the symposium I feel as though I had let my group down when I could not figure how to change the slides or do the videos. I felt so bad, but that is what I have learned from Malama Honua this quarter is that it is all about growth. Learning how to move past obstacles and to blossom. My group mates really helped me through this and I am so thankful to have worked with them. I have grown so much from this class. It taught me how I can make small changes that come with great impacts over time.

As I have looked back at this Malama Honua Final project, I am proud to say that I have learned more about sustainability. Here is a photo of some bush tomatoes, as well as other various plants that I started growing at the start of Spring Break. I took all of these plants in this photo from the light chamber systems we have in class, and it is crazy to see their progress from little sprouts. After taking this course this year, I have learned a lot about what sustainability is, and how it should really matter to more people. I have really grown to appreciate the little things in life. For example, one small seed placed in dirt, created a meal, and with care, will continue to flourish and nourish my family.
Today was the day that weʻve all been waiting for... And surprisingly, it went pretty well! All of the groups presented really well, and although it seemed that we may have goofed off through the quarter, the final presentations were actually quite good. The major down side was how long the symposium lasted. I think it was still good, however, because everyone came with a great attitude and finished these final projects strong. (Karenna) Our final Symposium Day is coming very quickly. Today, we ended up having a lock down (real) because there was a suspected threat in close vicinity to campus. Our final presentations were supposed to be due at the start of period 6, but we were still under lock down and could not go to period 6. This was a bummer, because we worked really hard to get it done on time, but ended up getting a whole extra day... Any who... our group is pretty prepared for tomorrow, and we are all excited to see how everyones projects panned out. We are also realizing in our own cohorts that no ones original plans actually worked/ did what they were supposed to...

Currently I have added two more pages to our paper, giving it a total of nine pages now. I have also added the picture data and explained what it meant to give Mr. Blake a clue of what he is looking at. Then on top of that I have updated majority of the powerpoint, except for the first introduction slide and the last conclusion slide. I decided to hold off on these because I can quickly put them together. I wanted to mainly focus on doing everything else because it showed the process of our whole project and it also gave an overview of our data; data is an important part to me because it shows the "legitness" of our project, showing that we aren't pulling this information from nowhere. Today I just figured out that only our draft is due today for the paper, but our powerpoint presentation is due a day earlier than our symposium. So, now I have completely switched my focus from working on the paper to the powerpoint! I am so proud of myself because I have gotten a lot done for our group! From creating 6 pages for the paper and then creating majority of the presentation! I have let everyone know about it, but didn't receive much help from it but it's alright because they are all really busy with their other classes. I don't mind doing most of it because I want my group members to do well in their other classes. I have built a relationship with this group that I will never forget. Kekanelii Tanaka-Pesamino:
As my group and I are coming to a close to our project, I decided to start on working on our final paper that is due this week I believe so. Another thing that I have created is the powerpoint because of our symposium that we have this Friday! I am actually more nervous about the paper than the presentation because they presentation goes over everything in detail to what my group and I did this whole quarter. Making sure everything makes sense and is in the right order is very important because I do not want to get a bad grade as I finish my senior year. It's also stressful because I have other big assignments and test for other classes that I have to prepare for. Below I have attached a snippet of what our papers introduction looks like. Today is a Sunday and our group is currently preparing for the week ahead of us. This upcoming Friday evening will be our symposium that we are slightly nervous about. For the most part this week in class will just be us trying to make sure that all of slides go together and who will be presenting which part of the project. This will be our last week of actual classes and the week after will only be finals and rehearsal. Kekanelii Tanaka-Pesamino:
Today our group just agreed to relax on Saturday and enjoy time to our family. Currently for the overall project we are in an actually good place. We have a created our powerpoint and agreed to resume working on it till Monday! Though right now the only thing I am doing is just updating our daily blog for our weekly website. Happy Saturday! Below I attached an image of me working on this as timestamp and because I really don't know what else to put on here besides explaining that we are enjoying our last weekends before graduation! Today as our group prepares for our symposium that is exactly one week away from now, we are all agreeing what we should wear as a group so that way we look way more professional when we present. We decided to talk about our attire now so that way everyone one in the group has enough time to gather, buy, borrow, or do whatever they have to do to get their outfits. As of right now we all agreed upon wearing aloha attire, but the colors blue and black in particular. I have decided that I will wear slacks and dress shoes to give off that "office meeting man" kinda vibe haha. |
